Crypto Mining with 480V 3 Phase

The only option Raptor has that can mine on 480V is our Crypto Minotaur PDU.

If you have 277V/480V there are a few things to consider.  You can run miners with this configuration if you have the right power supplies (which is very rare), but most PDUs and outlets are not rated for this voltage.  Even the power inlets on the miners themselves, C13’s and C19’s, are only rated up to 250V.  So even though some miners can accommodate a 277V input from a 480V three-phase source, the inlet (power entry connector) on the power supply (the miners PSU) is only rated to 250V.  

To keep clients compliant with the NEC and NRTL’s, we manufacture PDUs that are ETL listed to 480V/277V. The outlets on these PDUs are rated for 277V (7-20R), but a special power cord that converts to a standard C13 or C19 is required. Even though the PDU and outlet will be rated for 277V, the other side of the cable that connects to the PSU will still be 250V max rated.

If you chose to not be compliant, our standard Crypto Minotaur PDU is ETL listed with a voltage up to 415V/240V 3 Phase WYE. The outlets one these units are C-19's, which are rated for up to 250V. A 480V/277V input will create a 277V output, which is outside of the scope of the standard Minotaur’s listing. Though clients have success running the Minotaur at this voltage, it is not recommended, voids the unit's warranty, and is out of code. Raptor Power Systems and its partners accept no liability for using the PDU outside of its scope, but it will function.
