The CryptoHub is broken down into four parts, the transformer, breaker panel (Panel Guard), PDU (Crypto Minotaur), and splitter cables (Medusa Cables). Below is a breakdown of each part of the system. It is important to note that each component of the system can be purchased individually, for example, you could only buy PDUs or splitter cables.

Transformer

Transformers for the CryptoHub come in 500kVA, 1000kVA, 1500kVA, 2000kVA and 2500kVA sizes and are available as indoor or outdoor rated. If a size larger than 2500kVA is required, multiple transformers have to be used. Transformer sizes over 2500kVA create an unacceptable kAIC rating downstream and can not function with the other components inside of the CryptoHub system. The CryptoHub is modular, deployments may include many 2500kVA systems. Regardless of the input voltage selected (primary) the transformer will output 415V/240V which is optimal for crypto mining and is compatible with virtually all ASIC and GPU mining rigs.

There are two types of transformers that the CryptoHub system can use, a dry type or an oil filled. Dry type transformers are used for lower primary (input) voltages, i.e. 480V - 6.9kV. Dry type transformers can come in either NEMA 1 (indoor) or NEMA 3R (outdoor) enclosures. The advantages of a dry type transformer are that they are less expensive and have a faster lead time.

Oil filled transformers are typically meant for medium voltage input (1247V - 38.5kV) and primarily used for outdoor applications only. The lead time is usually longer for an oil field transformer vs a dry type transformer.

Panel Guards

The Panel Guard is the heart of the CryptoHub system and carries significant value in features and pricing. Panel Guards can be used indoor (NEMA1) or outdoor (NEMA 3R) and can be connected to a transformer up to 2800kVA. It has power sizes of 1200A, 2000A and 4000A with 150A 3 pole feeder breakers for the Crypto Minotaur PDU.

If using a Raptor provided transformer, the Panel Guard can be directly bussed to the transformer. This saves over $10,000 on installation costs and significantly speeds up installation time. The bussed feature for the Panel Guard is optional.

The Panel Guard only uses 100% rated, adjustable, electronic trip circuit breakers. This has many HUGE savings advantages over traditional thermal magnetic breakers which are highlighted below, along with the many other cost saving features.

• i. Lower power cable size as no 1.25 multiplier is required for feeder cables (smaller cables means lower price)
• ii. Customers can also adjust their feeder trip point to match their PDU (Minotaur) current rating – and closely match their cable size (smaller cables)
• iii. Customers can electrically operate the main circuit breaker to turn on / off the switchboard (load shedding if utility requires)
• iv. No nuisance trips due to heat like thermal mag breakers have a tendency to do..
• v. AERMS – arc energy reduction maintenance switch ready as required by NEC 240.87 for locales that have adopted NEC 2020

Compact Size – 4000A Main & up to (30) 150A feeders in 90 x 60 x 36

• i. Less cost vs Eaton, Square D, etc (less copper, less steel)
• ii. Less floor space required

NEMA 3R or NEMA 1 Construction (Doors on NEMA 3R, doors off NEMA 1)

• i. Flexible – can be mounted inside or outside, the same unit

Direct bus connection to the transformer (1200A to 4000A), can be a hard or flexible bus.

• i. Cost savings of $ 7,000 to $ 10,000 per transformer/switchboard pair (in copper cable, lugs, and labor)

Crypto Minotaur PDU

The Crypto Minotaur is a versatile 0U, 384 amp (128A per phase), PDU designed specifically for crypto mining applications.

12 x 50 amp breakers and 24 x C19 outlets give the Minotaur a powerful punch. The Crypto Minotaur is packed with 24 x C-19 outlets that can be loaded with 20 amps each. Equipped with 12 banks of 50 amp switched circuit breakers, de-rated to 40 amps, the Minotaur can power up to 384 amps of single-phase load. The Minotaur can accept conductors up to 2/0 on the lines and neutral/ground conductors up to 350 MCM. An easy to use hardwire terminal input is accessible removable access panel.

Medusa Splitter Cables

Specially made splitter cables double the Minotaur’s outlet capacity and streamlines the installation of S-19 and other dual input miners. The Medusa cable converts 1 x C-19 outlet into 2 x C-13 outlets.
